EL Oracy Competition |
EL Oracy Competition is a platform to help build the speaking and communication skills of Southviens. It is an additional platform that allows our pupils to apply the skills they have learnt from Speak Up Speak Out and gain confidence in public speaking or in front of an audience. EL SPARK | The EL SPARK programme is designed to enrich the learning for students who demonstrate passion, interest and ability in the English Language. Through activities like reading circles, drama and debate, it aims to stretch and develop creativity in higher progress, verbally talented students. Read@SV (Little Red Dot) | As part of our Read@SV programme to mould our students to be discerning readers and creative inquirers, P5 and P6 students will use The Straits Times Little Red Dot as a tool, along with an activity booklet, to engage deeply with the articles. It aims to develop critical thinking and foster global literacy as students gain insights into current events, global issues and multiple perspectives. | Primary 5 - 6 | Term 1 - 4 |
Read@SV (Storytelling Sessions) |
To foster a love for reading, storytelling sessions are held every Monday morning for P1 to P3 students. During these sessions, teachers and student librarians share engaging short stories. After which, students are invited to share their thoughts and reflections on Padlet. Another storytelling session where students can immerse themselves in more captivating tales, takes place during the P1 to P3 recesses.
